Discovery Academy는 Green River College와 커뮤니티 교육 파트너인 Highline College의 강점을 강조하는 양질의 교육 기회를 제공하는 청소년 개발 프로그램입니다. 이 프로그램은 개인의 장점을 활용하는 동시에 결합된 리소스, 아웃리치 잠재력 및 광고 비용을 활용하여 South Sound 커뮤니티의 가장 광범위한 네트워크에 서비스를 제공하는 데 중점을 둡니다. 디스커버리 아카데미는 미래의 학생들을 교육 개발의 초기 및 중추적인 시기에 참여시키고 고등 교육의 정점에서 개인 및 지역 사회와 관계를 구축할 수 있는 잠재력을 가지고 있습니다. 작업은 다른 커뮤니티 교육자, 커뮤니티 파트너, 교수진 및 행정 부서와의 통합 및 협업 접근 방식을 통해 수행됩니다. 우리가 하고 성장하고자 하는 것의 핵심은 미래의 접근성과 교육입니다.
비전 및 목표
COVID 및 여름 학습 손실 퇴치를 목표로 예비 대학생에게 양질의 교육 경험을 제공하고 젊은이들에게 대학 환경을 소개합니다. 이 프로그램은 해당 분야의 전문가인 교수진과 커뮤니티 파트너가 설계한 재미있는 프로젝트 기반 학습 경험과 매력적인 커리큘럼에 중점을 둔 접근 방식을 가지고 있습니다.

We're excited to offer an unparalleled volunteer opportunity for juniors and seniors, where you'll have the chance to hone your skills, build new ones, and make a difference in the lives of young people.
As part of our team, you'll receive high-quality training and mentorship in a variety of areas including group management, camp procedures and rules, professional communication and conflict resolution, first aid, and leadership. You'll also have the opportunity to lead hands-on activities for groups of kids ages 8-14 and take part in other camp related functions. But the benefits of this experience don't stop there!
When you complete your volunteer commitment, you'll walk away with:

Hiring Preference at 18 years of age for Camp Counselor positions, and early notification on future youth worker trainings.
